Information For Exhibitors

LynnArts welcomes your interest in the two exhibit spaces located in our building at 25 Exchange Street in downtown Lynn, Massachusetts. Both the Main (Time Warner) Gallery and the Community Gallery are available for the exhibit of art by established and emerging artists and arts groups.

Space: The Main Gallery measures 27' x 40', with a ceiling height of 14' and approximately 88 linear feet of wall space, while the Community Gallery measures 12' x 25' , with a 12' ceiling and approximately 32 linear feet of wall space. Both galleries have one wall of glass facing the street. A visit to LynnArts to view the space is encouraged; please call ahead for an appointment.

Installation: The hanging and installation of the exhibit is the responsibility of the artist, with LynnArts reserving the right to determine the final look of the show. Exhibiting artists and groups will arrange work and receive approval prior to actual hanging. Alternatively, artists may arrange prior to installation that LynnArts will hang the show. for which a fee will be charged (remove). All work must be framed and wired; the artist provides all hanging materials and tools (no wall anchors). LynnArts has a limited number of pedestals available for display; sculptors should provide their own pedestals or check with staff about availability. Artists provide their own labels and other (remove) exhibition materials, including guest book and signage (add) if desired.

Publicity: LynnArts will include information about Gallery exhibits in select press releases and publications as time and space allow. Artists are encouraged to print and mail announcements and pursue additional publicity on their own. Any press release or other publicity using the LynnArts name must be approved by LynnArts prior to publication.

Sales: LynnArts receives a commission of 25% of the listed sale price on all work sold as a result of the exhibit. Work sold remains on exhibit until the end of the show. Artist must arrange all pick-up or delivery of work sold with the buyer (remove). No storage of artwork is available in the LynnArts building.

Insurance: All artwork is insured while on exhibit at LynnArts. Artist must provide LynnArts with a price list prior to the start of the exhibit. Work not for sale must be given a value for insurance purposes. Artwork not removed at the close of the show is no longer insured and will also incur a daily storage fee of $10 per piece.

Reception: Artists must provide a reception for exhibits. in the Main Gallery. Receptions are encouraged but not required for exhibits in the Community Gallery (remove). All refreshments, paper goods, clean up and publicity for receptions are the responsibility of the artist. There is a small kitchen equipped with a microwave, sink, refrigerator and some tableware. Receptions must be scheduled with the LynnArts office two months prior to the event, and may occur during the day or early evening Monday - Saturday (change to: Receptions take place the first Saturday the exhibition is open). All food and trash must be removed from the building at the end of the reception. Exhibiting artists will be charged a custodial fee if the room is not left in the same condition in which it was found prior to the reception.

Community Component: In order to increase attendance to an exhibit, artists are encouraged to (replace with may) offer a community component. This may take the form of an artists' gallery talk, or workshop. Workshop space and limited materials are available. Any event must be approved by LynnArts in advance and information about the event will be included in all LynnArts publicity and mailings.
